Pakistan have reacted strongly after a UK tabloid has unfolded a major visa scam, involving a gang of dishonest officials and politicians, which could ease the entry of ‘potential terrorists’ in UK with Pakistan’s Olympic squad as support officials.

Twelve (12) employees of the National Database and Regulatory Authority (NADRA) have been suspended, including General Manager Lahore region, reportedly for an alleged involvement in the UK visa scam for London 2012 Olympic games. 

Taking a serious notice on the issue Rehman Malik, Senior Adviser to the PM on Interior, has also formed a Joint Investigation Team (JIT), headed by Director General FIA, to probe the case and register an FIR against those responsible.

According to details; ‘The Sun’ reported on Monday that they have infiltrated a crime ring offering false passports, visas and access to London 2012 as bogus support staff. They have also exposed a ring of crooked Pakistani officials and travel staff plotting the fraud with the help of a well-known politician to get around strict security.

LONDON, UK (Wed, Jul 18) – With just less than 10 days before the opening ceremony of the London 2012 Olympic Games, security concerns have outshone the preparations for one of the biggest sporting event in the world, leaving the British government majorly humiliated.

G4S, a private security firm, was awarded a $442m contract to provide much of the security for the event. Thousands of team officials and athletes from all over the world will arrive this week, and masses of visitors are expected to follow. But should they be worried?

The failure of G4S to deliver enough security staff to cover Olympic venues has raised the debate once again about the role of the private sector in delivering public services. Contrast to the contract G4S said it has only about 4,000 guards trained and ready, although it claims to have 7,000 fully qualified security staff by the time the Games kick off on July 27.

G4S failure to recruit, train and scrutinize enough staff on timely basis forced the British government to declare last week that it was arranging an extra 3,500 troops on a very short notice to cover the difference.

Now the 17,000 British military personnel deployed for the Games - about 7,500 more British soldiers than there are currently in Afghanistan - are to help out with the security checks and stewarding at venues, as well as specialist tasks such as bomb disposal and sniffer dog searches.

According to Al Jazeera; the British home secretary Theresa May came under further pressure as it was unfolded that the Home Office had been informed about this concern as early as 10 months ago.

While the recruitment failure by G4S is highly embarrassing for the company -- and led its share price to drop sharply -- the Games' organizers insist that their contingency planning will keep everyone safe, CNN reported.

The blunder is likely to cost G4S nearly $78m as the company will have to reimburse the government for the extra military deployment.

London 2012 Olympics: Chef de Missions seminar amidst London riots

LONDON (August 9) - The riots, ignited from Tottenham (north London) on Saturday (August 6) night after police shot dead Mark Duggan on Thursday night in an apparent gunfight, have spread across London on Tuesday night.

Riots spread in Croydon, Peckham and Lewisham in the south of the city, while gangs of looters roamed the streets of Hackney in the east, Clapham in the south, Camden in the north and Ealing in the west.

Rioting could hardly have come at a worse time for London 2012 with representatives from nearly 200 countries in the capital to attend the Chef de Missions seminar to discuss preparations for next year.

Rioters not only set different buildings on fire but also looting spree was reported in the areas hit by the worst rioting in the capital in years.

London 2012 Olympics: The Event is Going to be Affected by Increasing Number of Crimes in the City

If you are watching or reading newspapers you can see clearly that in London and UK shooting, killings and stabbings increasing rapidly and this is just not safe or secure us to take our families, friends to London Olympics in UK. You never know where the armed gangs going to come or fights. London media reported today a man blasted with a shotgun staggered on to an Underground train to escape a gunman and managed to travel one stop before collapsing on a platform in front of horrified passengers.

The 27-year-old victim was shot on the steps of Harlesden station in a clash between two gangs. He ran down to the Bakerloo line and jumped on to the first southbound train before getting off at Willesden Junction. Police and paramedics were called to the Tube station and the injured man was given emergency treatment on the platform. The Underground train was held and police interviewed shocked witnesses yesterday afternoon.

Commuters were forced to take buses from Harlesden station after it was closed for four hours, while police forensic science officers examined the scene. The victim, who is from south London, was today said to be in a stable condition in hospital.

A British Transport Police spokeswoman said the man's injuries were not life-threatening. He is thought to have suffered a gunshot injury to the lower back. Detectives are examining CCTV film footage from Harlesden station in a bid to identify the gunman. They believe the row began outside the station and then moved inside, where a gunman fired a blast from a weapon believed to be a shotgun.

London Olympics on the way and this kind a shooting, people running with guns on the streets and stabbing every where, teenagers gangs all sort of stuff so how can you feel safe and walk or get a train to stadium to support your team or watch amazing games in London. Security and safety is very low and this needs big attention because we might be travelling with families kids and will be many people all over the London due Olympics.
